What is Email Continuity?
Email Continuity maintains business continuity throughout your server outage by combining our Mail Bagging (MX Failover) with continuous email communication services. While maintaining business continuity, you will be able to protect against email interruptions with the ability to access critical email plus send and receive messages during the time that the MX failover server is bagging messages for your primary server.
How Email Continuity Works
This solution sends a copy of each email received to a backup mail server. You can access the server from anywhere in the world using a Web-based email interface, or just continue to use the email client from your office or mobile device to pull in messages using POP or IMAP. When sending emails through the Webservio Email Continuity system, your correspondents will still see that the messages are coming from your domain.
With Email Continuity, continuous email communication will be maintained during your server outage. Once your mail sever is back online, the stored email messages will be delivered to your primary server, as with all the Mail Bagging services, and your email communication will resume using your primary MX record.
Our exclusive Email Continuity Trimmer Utility "trims" emails in each mailbox based on the number of days the messages have been there. It can be scheduled to automatically run daily, weekly, or monthly for individual mailboxes or for all mailboxes. This feature is inactive by default. This utility greatly increases the amount of storage space for valid messages, and improves user access and search times. The Email Continuity Trimmer Utility is standard on all of our VPS and Dedicated mail bagging plans.
When you use Webservio Email Continuity, you have the option of adding the Mini-Archive feature. This add-on gives email continuity users a message history to work from during primary mail server downtime. During server uptime, a copy of inbound messages is sent to the email continuity server. You may choose to keep messages for the past 30, 60, or 90 days. During downtime, each user has access to their Mini-Archive so they can access older messages as needed to respond and follow up with clients or business partners.
